Hello, my name is Dennis Brinsfield, I am the 1st Vice Commander at American Legion Post 495.
This letter is to all members at the Post, Veterans, Auxiliary, Sons and ALR. As I am in charge of membership, I am taking it upon myself to send this out to our members. I am and have been extremely proud to be a member of the American Legion and especially our Post 495.
I know that due to this virus that times are tough with everyone. This is a call out to one and all, if you want to continue to have our Post to survive, please come in and support us. I am not saying that it is on life support, but we are not doing well. We have closed our Post on Wednesday and Thursday due to declining attendance, but we are still open the rest of the week. We have our meetings on Monday evenings, Treasure Hunt on Tuesdays and a 50/50 with enough participants, comradeship on Fridays with the possibility of a DJ in weeks to come, Saturday we have our World Famous breakfast buffet and poker at 2pm with enough players, bands to come in the evenings when virus protocols allow and Sunday we have Colts football and NASCAR racing on big screen TVs. There is food available any evening the Post is open. We have a fire pit outside for those that enjoy that. We also have gaming available during open hours for all. We have rides, weather permitting, to raise funds for various charities that need everyone's assistance.
I am pleading with all, please come to our home away from home, Post 495, and give us the support and friendship that we sorely miss. I, as well as everyone at the Post, miss you all and hope to see you all there soon. Thank You for listening to my plea to help to our Post and friendships to survive. If you have any questions for me I am available at the Post on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays in the morning and Sundays. Thank you for your continued membership in the Post 495 American Legion Family.
