POST 495 HOUSE RULES

 

  1. American Legion Post 495 is a private club.
  2. Only current American Legion members, Auxiliary members, Sons of The American Legion members, Junior Auxiliary members, and their guests are allowed in the club. The one exception is U.S. Armed Forces personnel, who are always welcomed, in or out of uniform, with proper ID.
  3. All guests must be signed in the guest book by the sponsoring Post member and be with their sponsoring Post member at all times. When the sponsoring Post member leaves the Post, the guest must also leave. Another Post member may take over sponsoring a guest, the guest will need to be signed in again and responsibility for the guest will be on the new sponsoring member. Members who sponsor guests are responsible for their conduct. If a Guest is asked to leave, the sponsoring member must also leave for the day. Guests are not allowed to make purchases of alcohol beverages, except on Designated Guests Days.
  4. Guests who are eligible to be a member of the American Legion Family, AKA: American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary & Sons of The American Legion, will be limited to being a guest for 3 visits. (Not to include the spouses of our members)
  5. Anyone who has at any time been a member of the Post 495 American Legion Family and is no longer a member here or at any other American Legion Post may not enter the Post as a guest on any day.
  6. Each Saturday of the month are the Post Designated Guest Days. Guest Days are an opportunity to show Post 495 to potential members. On designated Guest Days, guests may purchase alcoholic beverages.
  7. Spouses of Post members are always welcome in the Post with their spouse.
  8. Bartenders have the right and obligation to check for current membership and proof of age.
  9. Bartenders also have the right and obligation to refuse to serve alcohol to anyone they think has had too much to drink.
  10. Anyone under the age of 21 is not allowed to drink alcohol or be within 3 feet of the bar. Parents have the responsibility to have their children under the age of 18 out of the club by 10 p.m. except for organized Post functions. Anyone under the age of 18 is not allowed to play games of chance.  Anyone having small children with them is responsible for their conduct.
  11. Profane language, rowdiness, and discourteous behavior will NOT be tolerated!
  12. No visible firearms or other lethal weapons are permitted in the club, with the exception of law enforcement personnel in the performance of their duty.
  13. No illegal drugs will be permitted in the club, or on the premises. No alcoholic beverages purchased outside the club shall be consumed on Post property.
  14. Only authorized personnel will be allowed behind the bar, in the office, or in the kitchen.
  15. Proper dress includes shoes and shirt.
  16. Anyone damaging club property will be expected to pay for it, or face criminal prosecution.
  17. During all meetings the juke box shall be silent and the hall shall be closed to all but members and/or sponsored guests.
  18. When the William Cline meeting hall is rented, it becomes OFF LIMITS to all who are not attending as authorized guests. This includes the restrooms in the hall. Responsible Post Personnel shall be allowed to monitor activities in the hall.
  19. Post 495 is a smoking Post. The ONLY designated smoking areas are the enclosed tent on the back porch of the Post and outside of the Post. No one under 18 will be allowed in the enclosed designated smoking area.
